Esor-dire 2011
Edition VI
Esor-dire will be held in Bologna on the 26th and 27th November 2011.
Esor-dire is the point of convergence between new writers
Esor-dire is the annual reference point for Italian literary scouting and this is edition VI
Esor-dire is two moments: The Author’s trials and the Literary tourney
Esor-dire is the composition of the present, made up of the moment before and the moment after
Esor-dire = Present
A debut is an instant, e link, an punctuation mark between two sentences: one on the past the it has inside it, the other on the future that torments it. Which is why we created
Esor-dire: a pause, a call for conscious attention an invitation to understand that moment, that junction and its meaning.
Esor-dire is a meeting, a confrontation and a challenge, an event on debuting writing made up of tests, a show, criticism, a public and prizes. Esor-dire is the literary scouting event for under 40 year old writers…and now, in its sixth edition, it has also become a reference point in Italian publishing.
Born in 2007 and now in its VI edition, Esor-dire has garnered praise and trust from industry insiders and has become a national event and a reference point for publishers, aspiring writers and fans of Italian fiction.
The project’s curator is Rosaria Carpinelli, with the collaboration of Mario Capello, Chicca Gagliardo, Mattia Garofalo and Raffaella Lops.

Esor-dire also wants to bring to the light the way that stories are worked. This is how the Author’s trials was born, an open workshop in which 6 aspiring writers – chosen thanks to publications on magazines and/or recommendations by writing schools – present their projects to professional editors. This is how the Author’s trials begin: dedicating meetings, which are also collective and open to the public with analysis, reasoning on narrative choices and useful suggestions, in the hope of giving life to new collaborations. An open workshop on storytelling with the following editors: Jacopo De Michelis (Marsilio), Mario Desiati (Fandango),Giulia Ichino (Mondadori), Giulio Mozzi, Angela Rastelli (Einaudi), Michele Rossi (Rizzoli), Loretta Santini (Elliot).

One instant after his debut, the writer’s life begins. Presentations, trips, words, snippets of time, nominations, reviews, criticism. And the world of readers, sometimes too distant, sometimes warmer than could have been imagined.
The second moment in Esor-dire is the
LITERARY TOURNEY.
A duel to the last word between 6 under 40 debut writers and the winner of the creativity prize of the
ilmioesordio competition. A show that involves the public of readers.
Accompanied by the suggestive notes of live music, the challengers will read a new, unpublished, short story and await the public and jury’s judgements.
The winners of each section will receive a cash prize offered by
Coop Adriatica.
The Jury is formed by the writers
Paolo Giordano,
Giampiero Rigosi,
Grazia Verasani and by
