The second Call of Papers
The 2nd International Conference on Creativity and Writing, November 19 to 22, 2010
In co-operation, the departments of creative writing at:

• The University of Turku
• Oriveden Opisto (Orivesi College of Arts)

• Suomen Sanataideopetuksen Seura SSOS (The Finnish Society of Creative Writing Programs)
• European Network of Creative Writing Programs (ENCWP)
Plenum lecturers:
Poet James Richardson, professor (University of Princeton), novelist Niina Repo, creative writing teacher (University of Turku, Finland), novelist Rubén Abella, M.A., creative writing teacher (Escuela de Escritores, Spain)
The co-operators will arrange within ENCWP –network, the 2nd International Conference on Creative Writing from November 19 to 22, 2010. Both scientific and popularizing papers will be accepted. One session is reserved for scholars, another for teachers. Also advanced students may propose a paper.
Topics: ideas, experiences, methods, philosophy, pedagogics, results etc. concerning creativity, or teaching of writing; we expect popularizing (practical), or scientific (theoretical) papers; also papers concerning teaching Inter-Arts, or mixing disciplines will be welcome.
Participants: anybody who teaches, makes program plans for writer’s schools, or works in other profession in the field of creativity, or writing; we welcome also scholars, writers, editors, critics, and students

2nd dead line for proposals: September 15, 2010
Proposals (in English) should include: paper title, abstract of 500 words maximum, scholar’s name, institutional affiliation, complete mailing address, email address, telephone and / or mobile number.

Cultural and other Activities: Welcome meeting on Friday evening; a trip to the City of Tampere will be organized on Monday (extra charge of the trip 20 euro). The later program on Saturday evening (dinner, sauna, meeting with colleagues).
Conference Facilities: Concerence sessions and accommodation will take place in the campus of Orivesi College of Arts; address: Koulutie 5, FI 35300 Orivesi, Finland
The Conference Fee for scholars and teachers:
• The Conference Fee of 200 euro includes participation in the conference, and 3-night-long lodging at the college (Friday to Monday) in a double room, and meals from Friday dinner to Sunday lunch (2 breakfasts, 2 lunches, 2 dinners, and gettogether on Friday evening),
or
• The Conference Fee of 260 euro includes participation in the conference, and 3-night-long lodging at the college (Friday to Monday) in a single room, and meals from Friday dinner to Sunday lunch (2 breakfasts, 2 lunches, 2 dinners, and gettogether on Friday evening),
or
• The Conference Fee of 110 euro includes only participation in the conference and gettogether on Friday evening, neither lodging nor meals.
• The Conference Fee for students (reduction 20 %).
Travelling: Orivesi is located in the central Finland, 2 hours and 30 minutes by train from Helsinki, and 25 minutes by train from Tampere. Is is also possible to take an international flight to Tampere (via Helsinki) and continue by bus or train from the Tampere Railway Station.
